Support

Something not working, or a question the app does not answer? Write to support@goneashore.com. A real person reads it, and we aim to reply within two working days.

It helps enormously if you include: the vessel name, whether you are on iPhone or Android, and what you were doing when it went wrong.

Frequently asked

How do I join my vessel?

Someone aboard with permission to manage crew adds you and sends you an invitation. You cannot add yourself to a vessel — that is deliberate: the board is only trustworthy if the bridge controls who is on it.

I forgot my password

Write to support@goneashore.com from the email address on your account and we will reset it for you. A self-service reset is coming.

My status is wrong on the board

Swipe your own row on the Board, or use the ON BOARD / ASHORE buttons in your Profile. Only your own row is swipeable. If someone else's row is wrong, only a crew member with override permission can change it.

Why can I not raise the alarm?

Raising and standing down an alarm is restricted to people the Captain has explicitly given that permission. It is not tied to rank or department.

Someone is on duty but ashore — is that alarm real?

Yes, and it is the whole point of the app. It means the roster has that person on watch while their status says they are off the vessel. Usually it means they forgot to change their status. Occasionally it means something else, which is exactly why it is shown.

I am not getting muster notifications

Check that notifications are allowed for GoneAshore in your phone settings, and that you are not in silent or focus mode. The muster alarm uses its own sound so it is distinguishable from ordinary notifications.

Someone left the vessel — how do I remove them?

They are archived rather than deleted, so they disappear from the board while the historical record stays intact. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I change our plan or seat count?

From Manage subscription, in the app. If your crew has outgrown the current seat limit, the app will suggest the tier that fits.

Where is our data stored?

In the European Union — Frankfurt, Germany. Details in the Privacy Policy.
